Emily Murphy, Administrator at the General Services Administration (GSA), stated in November that the agency would be merging multiple award schedules (MAS) to mitigate any redundancies in contracting resources and simplify processes for federal customers who are already relying on multiple schedules to service their needs. This includes the Schedule 70, a massive schedule centered around information technology.
MAS vendors provide over 10 million commercial products and services to both federal and state/local agencies. Approximately $31 billion dollars are spent through these schedules annually.
The process of combining these MAS will take approximately two years. MAS modernization is part of GSA’s Federal Marketplace strategy to modernize and streamline government procurement.
An RFI was just posted on June 7th which requests industry assistance determining the format of the single schedule for products and services, terms and conditions, and a solicitation cover page that provides universal instructions for all contractors.
