The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has just awarded a five-year, $325 million-dollar contract last week. This Indefinite-Delivery, Indefinite-Quantity (IDIQ) contract includes both technical support services and research and development test and evaluation (RDT&E) and is called Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance III, or SETA III for short. SETA III provides support of the Science and Technology Directorate of DHS.
Of the eighteen applicants, DHS chose four awardees: Engility Corporation, ManTech International, Noblis, and Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC). All of the awardees were incumbents on SETA II except for SAIC. SAIC is actually in the process of acquiring Engility Corp, which would consolidate this contract down to three awardees.
Services which will likely be included in the Task Orders for SETA III are:
- Advisory assistance support in technology scouting
- Vulnerability and risk assessment and mitigation; project justification and defense
- Program planning
- Evaluation and analyses of programs
- Projects, budgets and performance
- Project execution, transition and commercialization.
- Programmatic support
- Various administrative support/assistance
Administrative assistance may include providing additional support to the program office toward mission goals and day-to-day business support.
