NASA’s fifth iteration of its leading government-wide information technology contract vehicle SEWP has grown almost 40% in the last fiscal year. This means over $9 billion was spent through the GWAC in FY 2020 vs $6.7 billion in FY 2019.  In addition, the quantity of orders grew from 35,000 to 46,000. Ninety different agencies used the vehicle in FY 2020.

NASA has also published several new projects/accomplishments from the past last year, including converting to 100 percent telework, a new online provider portal to SEWP V Logoenhance visibility for vendors, an online CIO portal for sharing information with agency CIOs that helps provide more transparency regarding spending, and the Customer Odyssey Team which focuses on customers and improving the SEWP experience.

Despite already being highly regarded amongst industry and federal users in customer service, process flows, and transparency, there are further planned improvements for FY 2021. These will concentrate on internal and external education, training, data quality and contextual analysis.

For those not already familiar with SEWP (Solutions for Enterprise-Wide Procurement), the SEWP V contract streamlines the process of delivering federal agencies state-of-the-art tablets, desktops and servers; IT peripherals; network equipment; storage systems; security tools; software products; cloud-based services; video conferencing systems, and other IT and audio-visual products; as well as related services including installation, training and maintenance. The contracts are FFP (firm-fixed-price) IDIQs (indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity) with a per contract maximum of $20 billion. There is a total of 90,000 task orders associated with SEWP I through V.
