The U.S. Navy awarded contract options totaling $1.86 billion to eight companies, enabling them to continue delivering professional management and technical services in support of the military branch’s cyberspace operation systems and capabilities. This award signifies the activation of the second option year within the previously granted SSC Pacific Cyberspace Science, Research, Engineering & Tech Integration indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) contract. Originally, nine companies were granted seven-year contracts to support the Navy’s cyberspace operations in May 2016.
It extends support to Naval Information Warfare Center Pacific, ensuring the maintenance of architecture, functionality, and interoperability across cyberspace operations systems at tactical, operational, and strategic levels, as announced by the Department of Defense May 7th. The work will take place in San Diego, California, until May 2026. Funds will be allocated by NIWC Pacific upon the issuance of individual orders.
The Department of the Navy initiated this solicitation of proposals for the prospective 10-year, $2.67 billion follow-on contract in February of 2024. The contract furnishes wireless mobility and telecommunication devices and services for military personnel and federal civilian employees stationed domestically and in U.S. territories.
The Naval Supply Systems Command Fleet Logistics Center in San Diego selected a competitive process for the multiple-award IDIQ contract to support the Office of the Department of Defense Chief Information Officer. The services encompassed within the IDIQ recompete contract are endpoint mobility management, wireless carrier services, internet of things (IoT), mobility end-point infrastructure, mobile backend-as-a-service, telecom expense management services, mobile application vetting, and mobile threat protection.
Stakeholders expressing interest submitted technical proposals comprising subfactors pertaining to coverage, devices, transition plans, corporate management reporting capabilities, and contingency communications capabilities.
