U.S. Air Force issues 46 awards on $1B TETRAS II IDIQ

The U.S. Air Force issued 46 awards to companies for the second phase of a potential five-year contract TETRAS II. Known as Test and Evaluation Technologies for Ranges, Armaments, and Spectrum II, this multiple-award, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity (IDIQ contract) is valued at nearly $1B. It aims to develop and enhance test and evaluation systems for munitions, spectrum improvements, electronic combat, and C5ISR platforms. It is listed under primary NAICS 336419 (Other Guided Missile and Space Vehicle Parts and Auxiliary Equipment Manufacturing) and primary PSC AC53 – R&D- Defense System: Weapons (Advanced Development). 
TETRAS IIs primary objective is to equip the 96th Range Group and its clients with the necessary capabilities to create and upgrade testing systems and facilities. Additionally, it aims to support mandatory radio frequency spectrum plans as the testing community transitions from 5th to 6th generation cyber and weapon systems.
The contract is expected to assist the military in meeting tight deadlines and accommodating dynamic testing requirements, particularly when procuring highly specialized software and hardware.
The subsequent contract will necessitate the selected vendor to acquire software, hardware, and testing equipment for the development and modification of ground, air, sea, and space systems and facilities. These will be utilized to test and evaluate C5ISR, cyber, and electronic combat platforms within live and virtual test environments. The statement of work also specifies that the contractor must possess expertise in various areas, including modeling and simulation, prototype fabrication, requirements analysis, and model-based systems engineering.
