The Integrated Award Environment (IAE) Industry Community has released a number of new Product Service Codes (PSCs) which are now in use for 2021. PSCs are used to categorize the products, services, and research and development (R&D) items that the federal government purchases. As new items are developed and sought after by the government, these codes need to evolve to meet new industry offerings, to further distinguish their differences, or to retire categories which are no longer relevant.
The IAE recently implemented changes to PSCs which include 155 new R&D PSCs while end-dating 721 R&D PSCs, 40 new information technology PSCs while end-dating 68 IT PSCs, initiating two product codes: PSC 6835 (new) and PSC 6830 (revised), and renaming PSC Q901 to Healthcare Environmental Cleaning (previously Aseptic Housekeeping Services).
Throughout the IAE systems, which include beta.SAM.gov, SAM.gov and FPDS.gov, these updates to the PSC codes have all been applied. Business development teams should familiarize themselves with the new codes so they can use them to find new opportunities within EZGovOpps that fall within their expertise. All codes will be fully implemented within the platform by 1/21/21. We recommend teams update their MyProfile settings, as well as any saved search or Search Agent parameters that utilize PSCs to ensure the best matches moving forward.
