Air Force Awards 17 for Anti-Tamper Safeguard Solution IDIQ
2/14/2024
The Department of Defense (DOD) has awarded multiple contracts for the development and delivery of advanced anti-tamper solutions. These solutions, designed and tested within the continental United States, will be integrated into various programs to safeguard critical information from unauthorized access or manipulation. This initiative seeks to design, build, test, and ultimately deliver these systems, aiming to create a barrier against unauthorized access and manipulation attempts. By prioritizing this aspect of security, the Department of Defense ensures the continued integrity and effectiveness of its programs, protecting them from sophisticated adversarial efforts.
This competitive acquisition, with 20 proposals submitted, will see the 17 awardees receive an initial $1,000 each for research, development, testing, and evaluation in Fiscal Year 2024. The ceiling value on this Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract is $499 million. The project is expected to be completed by February 28, 2030, and is managed by the Air Force Life Cycle Management at Wright Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. This initiative highlights the Department of Defense’s commitment to protecting sensitive information and ensuring program integrity.
The vendors selected are expected to leverage advanced techniques like digital twinning, circuit design and modeling, and others to create a secure ecosystem that transcends individual devices. In addition, the vendor will build custom microelectronics and single-board computers, forming the foundation for a secure processing environment. This goes beyond traditional security measures, aiming to establish a mutually trusting environment where components play a role in protecting sensitive data and critical operations.
